The «exploding» city:'L'explosio de la ciutat'

Soundtrack for film shown in the Auditorium of the Architects' College of Catalonia at the Universal Forum of Cultures international event, Barcelona 2004.

The exhibition's digital projections were mostly shown by reflecting images from mirrors placed along the periphery of the installation space.

The exhibit presented a selective inventory of the different forms of territorial transformation that have taken place in the Euro-Mediterranean urban regions represented.

The Commissioned Work aimed to provide both an overview and a closer analysis of the most significant fragments and situations in relation to the ongoing process.

The presentation of the morphological realities of the region was complemented by a selective examination of contemporary sociological behaviours in relation to the new scenarios of urban life. These bring up fundamental questions about the way our habitat functions and point to potential problems in the way it is currently organised.  

The exposition comprised theoretical perspectives by key authors on the contemporary international urban cultural scene and a selected number of territorial projects and proposals related to the urban regions examined.

Several directions were suggested to guide a renewed approach to territorial development.
